Corrine May has a song that goes
"...Take a look at the ordinary
Don't need to look for Paradise
You could be next to an angel in disguise..."
Don't you wonder sometimes why a kind soul would do something good for you out of a sudden? And even better, the person is a stranger.
It happened just last Friday. I was waiting for the bus going for prayers. Was a cool day as the morning was drizzling. Then out a sudden, this taxi driver was horning at me then waving frantically to get on. Yes, my disclaimer here is... If you are a sweet young thing and the taxi driver has noooo legitimate reason for him to give you a lift then please for God's sake decline his offer. As for me, it's a kind gesture and I took it up (yes, I have some insurance that my family can claim should I be found dead).
It was then that the song just blurted out in my mind. I used to imagine the song to have an accompanying video that depicts a dark rainy day and some destitute (sp?) drenched in the rain and the human-like angel gives the destitute an umbrella, the destitute returns a smile and then the angel takes out her halo, spreads her wings and fly to the sky. While she does that, the gloomy weather dissipates (sp?) and it became a sun shiny day. Hmm but then no need to use umbrella already what?! Sigh, never think in advanced.
Anyways, to the kind soul who believes in doing a good deed on a Friday, thank you for the lift. May Allah bless you. Amin.
