I made 2 purchases recently, within a day. One was a collection of short films, but mainly was to get Keluar Baris - a short film by Boo Junfeng. Then, Sandcastle also by the same director. Both are local films by a local director. Both concludes with an NS enlistment of the main actors.

I believe the latter was building on the short film storyline and added with a few other elements like family, love and growing up while the short film's focus was q-merely on the main actor coping with the reality of going to NS.

Like another review I read, I too am less critical of local films. Then again, I am not that critical to any movies. To me, you just need to take it at face value, understand it and appreciate it. Why do you to analyse so much anyways??

It was a worthy purchase these 2 films on DVD. But I recommend those who wish to see a full feature local movie to buy Sandcastle. Keluar Baris is only around 15mins so you might feel shortchanged unless you appreciate short films.
